A door stile is one of the vertical sections on either side of the door panel, running from top to bottom. If you think of a door as a picture frame, the stiles are the side pieces on the left and right that support key components, such as locks, latches, and hinges.
In a framed glass door, the stiles provide structure and stability and define the look and function of the door. Door stiles are available in different widths, including narrow, medium, and wide stiles, each suited to different hardware and design needs. For example, a narrow stile creates a modern, minimal profile, commonly seen in office interiors, upscale storefronts, or contemporary glass entries. A wide stile offers a bolder frame and increased durability for high-traffic environments such as public buildings, schools, or commercial lobbies where additional strength and hardware compatibility are important.
